Mrs. Debbie Marette (Owner/Administrator)

Debbie

I am the owner and administrator of Blue Spruce Montessori School (established in 1997). I graduated from the Montessori training center of B.C. in 1994 with an A.M.I. (Association Montessori International) Montessori diploma and also a diploma in Early Childhood Education. I am now in my 20th year of teaching and still feel the same passion and enthusiasm for Montessori as I did upon graduating.

I am originally from England and have been a resident of Canada for over 20 years. I have extensive work experience with young children and a sincere and genuine interest in early childhood education. My teaching experience includes setting up and operating a Montessori primary school in North Vancouver, tutoring elementary children and teaching and administrating at my own school Blue Spruce Montessori.

I am dedicated to keeping current with childcare issues through professional development. Since graduating I have attended several conferences and refresher courses and have also acquired a diploma in E.C.E. administration. I continue learning and growing as a Montessori teacher and also as a mother of two beautiful daughters.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy keeping fit, I love hiking, skiing and biking. I also enjoy collecting children's Literature, sewing and home decorating.

Connie Merai

Connie Merai

My name is Connie Merai, I graduated from the Association Montessori Internationale Training Center of British Columbia in June, 2015, where I acquired a Primary Teacher Diploma as well as an Early Childhood Educator Certificate.

I am born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. My education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of British Columbia and my work experience includes 16 years in retail training and management.

I am a proud mother of two beautiful daughters and have had the privilege to be an aunt to 3 nieces and a nephew. I have also been actively involved in a number of children’s programs in the local community, which I enjoy immensely.

After the birth of my first daughter, I became very interested in the Montessori educational approach. After researching the philosophy I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the field. My passion for people development in my previous work experience has inspired me to want to work with our future, preschool aged children.

I look forward to supporting the development of every child at Blue Spruce Montessori to reach their fullest potential.

Giorgette Junio

Giorgette Junio

I am Ms. Giorgette Junio. I went to MTI Community College where I earned my Early Childhood Education Diploma. I am the Assistant Montessori Teacher at Blue Spruce Montessori. I am looking forward to my first year and hope to acquire wonderful relationships with the children, families, and teachers. I am also excited and eager to learn more about the Montessori Philosophy where I can help each individual child reach their full potential.

I am born in Vancouver, Canada, but have lived in the Philippines during my early school years where I attended a Montessori school. I am an only child; however, I come from a large family where I grew close to all my cousins and consider them all as my siblings.

I feel that I have a fun, outgoing, endearing, and patient personality that children are drawn to. I am very passionate about guiding and learning with young children about the world around them and eager to start my journey with them at Blue Spruce Montessori.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending it with my loving and spirited 4 year old son. We enjoy swimming, hiking, and reading together. Our most favourite thing to do is go for walks and talk about what we see along the way.
